Reed College in Portland, Oregon, is home to the only nuclear reactor in the world run primarily by undergraduates. SciFri producers got a tour of Reed’s “swimming pool” reactor from undergraduate reactor operator Ilana Novakoski, who also joined Ira onstage in Portland to explain what’s behind the Reed Reactor’s blue glow.
